Leaving town for Origins Game Fair in the morning and I had Good Food that was going to go to waste if I didn't act. And so we had mangoes with a brown sugar-butter-pecan sauce, flambéed with smoked maple bourbon and topped with honey-thyme crème fraîche for dessert.

Everything I’ve said so far is about composing for live #performance, and specifically about preparing music (on paper) to be brought to life by #performers who are trained to interpret it. That’s most of what I do in music. But I would love to work more with #improvising players and explore that side of my musicianship again. Either way though, I’ve always depended on performers, and #liveMusic has always been my focus.

Nice story. I went through this myself albeit at a much younger age. My sister gave me a #guitar and I deliberately put aside all my theory and just made shapes and listened, bearing in mind what another classical player told me - the best players know exactly how they want to sound. Gonna improvise a curry. I've got a pound of ground beef, a can of coconut milk, onions, potatoes, a bell pepper, minced garlic, curry powder, dry bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, lime juice, water, oil, red pepper flakes, and maybe some other things lying around. I think those are good ingredients. I wish I had ginger, cayenne pepper, and more coconut milk but this is what I've got. Thoughts?

Got knee surgery yesterday. Meniscus. And already did some #Berimbau practice today. Feeling tired now. But it felt so good to pick up where I left. I started to become serious after the passed exam in July, which I was not pleased with my performance. It was only the first stage, but still, I want to become fluent in #improvising in different meters, 5, 7, 9(3+2+2+2) … Won’t play Surdo though for some time. To close to my knee.

Wrote another page for this #todr performance. A narrative is coming together but the #performance of #storytelling is still lacking. I think I’ll be able to revise it tomorrow into something I’m comfortable reading on stage, it’s just unusual to perform something prepared as opposed to #improvising it.
