It's September again 🍂 and traditionally all #PhdCandidates within our doctoral school #IMPRS met for 3 days in Bad Segeberg for the annual retreat. Everyone has the opportunity to present their work in the field of Earth System Science and receive feedback. Plenty of sunshine 😎 and a lake for swimming 🦦 offer refreshment and cooling down after intense sessions.

Today, the first day of the #IMPRS Summer School has begun. 🥳 During the week, we will hear multiple lectures around the topic of #Sustainable #Energy Systems. The kick-off was given by Prof. Dr. Franziska Scheffler who gave an introduction to the topic of Sustainable Energy Systems and is giving now a more in-depth lecture on the topic of "Thermal energy storage (TES)".

Recently, the IMPRS Tandem Talk took place. Ronny Zimmermann and Prof. Dr. Kai Sundmacher talked about the topic “Optimal Design and Operation of Fixed-Bed Reactors for Power-to-X Applications”. The event was a resounding success, with many PhD students participating, gaining valuable insights on the topic and using the opportunity to ask questions. Overall, it was a great experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to the next Tandem Talk.

Today the IMPRS Tandem Talk will take place. Tandem talks are part of the IMPRS program and an excellent opportunity for researchers to exchange current findings and challenges. A Professor and a PhD student cerate a presentation, where the Professor gives a short introduction into the topic and the PhD Student gets the chance to present their work.
