There's a little drop of blood, right in front of Stedes shoe. He wouldn't even have noticed it, if he wasn't trying to watch his step to avoid spilling any of the tea he was carrying.

The drop wasn't big, but as he stared at it, Stede realized that it was not just one drop.

No, it was several drops, leading away from where he was standing, somewhere down the hull.

Curious, he put down the cups and followed the trail.
