Had so much fun today at the VIR #IMSA race, those GTD cars are great and TV really loses how distinct each one sounds from one another. So thrilled to see Jordan Taylor get at least one last win with me in person for Corvette. The atmosphere was so chill and we just set up a couple lawn chairs in the exit of two two where we could see a wide section of the track. My best friend was already talking about wanting to come out and check more stuff out next year. #racing

I wish the prototypes could race at VIR, but those GTDs are still really badass cars by themselves and highly competitive with one another and I'm really excited to get my first ever experience going to a road course race in person. #motorsport #racing

Watching rally with a favorite driver (that isn't winning) has made each rally more bittersweet but not caring who wins in #imsa and #indycar is kind of freeing. Lower stakes but it's as enjoying as the race

Doing a DuoLingo lesson after midnight last night because I knew I would have auto racing (#NASCAR #IMSA #Indycar #F2 etc) on all day long with very few breaks, and god forbid if I let that goddamned bird make me feel guilty for breaking my streak. #duolingo

It's so cool to see a women's racing team in #IMSA and #WEC.

Watching a replay of the Six Hours of The Glen and seeing the #IronDames Huracán leave the pits on cold tires and just make it out in front of the Lexus and then keep that position despite the cold tires. And once their tires get some heat, they pull away.

Talent is talent.

I hope to see more women's teams in more motorsports formats.

So, after months on Mastodon, through two different public servers and my own self-hosted instance (which lasted all of 3 months), I'm finally writing an #introduction post.

Born, raised, and still residing in the DC metro area, I'm an #IT Support technician full-time, and #electronics sales associate part-time (#PC / #Apple / TVs / etc.). Also a #motorsports fan, specifically #NASCAR #IMSA and #F1. Always interested in #infosec and #internet news, along with general #technology and #science news. And somehow I have some time to spend #gaming, with current favorites of #Fortnite (Zero Build of course) and #Forza (any of them!).

I don't tend to post a lot, but may boost content related to the above interests and more from time to time.

Finally have a chance to watch this year’s #LeMans24h (currently 2hrs in).

I realize I’m alone in this, but *NOT* a fan of the new safety car rules. The wave-by’s work in #IMSA because of the shorter tracks. Now I have to watch 20+ min’s of safety car speed to re-align everyone.

Way to keep the race unique, #WEC…yet another case of unnecessary Americanization… 🤬🤬🤬🤬

The #IMSA #Sahlens6hrs so far has looked a little too amateur, both by some drivers and the race director. Not a great first 35 minutes.

Anyone in the Fediverse going to the #IMSA weekend at #WatkinsGlen? It might be a bit soggy at a few points, but hopefully, that will be minimal!

Hoping to hang out around turn 10 and watch the action on the screen a bit. Otherwise, I'll probably wander the infield. If you're around and looking for a neurodiverse hermit to hang out with for a few, drop me a line.
