I think a recent discovery has me with even more contempt than I already had for AI & phone companies.

I can't really use telephone calls for communication as the panic attacks they trigger are blackout level severe(as in under 30 seconds after I make the call I've no clear memory of it, but I'm still shaking over it, regardless of the results), and my smartphone doesn't have the memory for many apps..... So in trying to reactivate my phone recently, for text messages & a long drive, I had my spouse making the call at first to try & do said reactivation & everything he tried failed, so then I tried - completely blacking out, as is my normal, and that "worked" to reactivate my phone, because the AI was apparently set to not recognize a man's voice for the phone of a woman.

So after that garbage I know that just to occasionally turn on my phone, I "need" to go through that phobia, with a "service" that I don't use, just to "reactivate" a service set that I only use 2/3rds of (internet & text) 🙈🙉🙊.

Eventually I also might just have him do initial activations of another phone and then reactivate/renew service on it once every 3 months to circumvent this manure - but???? Really I'd prefer these companies end this inaccessibility of theirs!

I'm watching a war movie for my historiography of war seminar, and I'm sure this is a good film but the combination of abysmal subtitles and shaky-cam mean I have no idea wtf is happening. Why didn't they provide a functional .srt file to Vimeo? #inaccessibility #captions #grump
