“I had no idea how #inaccessible urban Britain is – until I faced it in a #wheelchair.” This is a good article but it’s frustrating that it often takes an able bodied person becoming temporarily wheelchair bound for this sort of report to be published. #Disabled people deal with these problems all the time, but often ignored or their problems trivialised. Trying to find a light #Horror #Magazine for a short story or two.

I am finding magazine submission sites extremely #Inaccessible.

Black with white font? Burns the eyes. The last one was bright red. No idea the font color, as I had to close it.

When my eye is working better, I can copy and paste the submissions page into #Scrivener, to determine if it is one I am interested in sending a story to.

Hours of extra work to determine if a magazine is a fit for my writing style. #Accessibility

First major issue - size 12 font. I think I was 15 the last time I could read anything in size 12 of any font.

Then he says to choose and easily readable font, and proceeds to list the two least readable fonts ever created!

Times New Roman and Courier are both like writing something in pencil, and erasing it half way out. And in size 12 point font - the rubbed out lines dance on he screen. In fact, ChalkDuster font is easier to read.

A readable font is Arial Rounded MT Bold six 18. Even then, it is sometimes too small to see,

I keep hoping #Publishers will begin to accept #Accessible written content.

Allow authors to use a font they can see.

Please.

Allow #Disabled, #Blind, and #DeafBlind writers to publish in your magazines.

It only takes a minute for you to reduce the size of the font, if you don't enjoy reading in a readable font. however, authors may not be able to read your notes if they are in an #InAccessible font.

Which means they can't correct mistakes.

Oh, and nix the phone numbers. If I wanted to do a talky, I wouldn't be publishing.
