This #song is interesting in an #occult way, it is about protection from the #EvilEye🧿 and all the #amulets and #talismans she used trying to do so
the #khamsa🪬 -#Arabic for five- is one of the symbols mentioned and according to most sources, the khamsa is originally #Sumerian
> Early use of the khamsa could be traced to ancient #Mesopotamian artifacts in the amulets of the #goddess #Inanna or #Ishtar.

A wonderful bit of playing and singing by Peter Pringle. From the video description:
"THE EXALTATION OF #INANNA was written in #Sumerian by the daughter of Sargon The Great, the High Priestess of Inanna in the city of #Ur, a woman by the name of #Enheduanna. What you hear in this video, are the first twelve lines of the EXALTATION, sung in Sumerian, and accompanied on a scale #replica of the remarkable “Gold #Lyre of Ur”, discovered in the 1920’s by British archaeologist Sir Leonard Woolley.
Enheduanna was born more than 4,000 years ago, and she is the first named author of a literary work that we know of. Her writings and her history are well documented on the internet, and if you are interested in learning more about her, I refer you to a wonderful website called “enheduana ‘dot’ net”."
The description also talks a bit more about the lyre, exaltation, and his approach. #music #AncientMusic #archaeomusicology #musodons #histodons

Men have always been
too busy being prosaic. https://t.co/Iozg2NXO8Y
The first poem was a prayer to #Inanna, the ancient goddess of birth and death. https://t.co/fv0xEVwp4P
@ankedb A goddess, also known for things we nowadays would call "transitioning between genders":
> To destroy, to create, to tear out, to establish are yours, Inanna.
> To turn a man into a woman and a woman into a man are yours, Inanna.
