#TravelPhotography from #OnThisDay in 2019 when we set foot in #Peru for the first time. We had to go see something of the #Inca, of course, so headed to #TamboColorado, a 15th century administrative complex built during the reign of #Pachacuti who had an interesting rise to power, to say the least. It was painfully hot, very dry and exposed, but a fabulous place to visit and admire that trapezoidal #architecture favoured by the Inca.

My youngest is learning about #Incan and #Mayan culture. We talked about how they were mistreated by Europeans and how they were savaged for their gold. And that they were seen as “savages” which they were not. They were enlightened and had many wonderful cultural practices.
We also spoke about the Indignous cultures of North America, their mistreatment and how wonderful they are. We need to learn about other cultures and respect their ways of life and traditions.
