When I participate as a co-author in scientific projects and revise manuscripts, I always begin my review with the following comment:

"Usual first question in my reviews: Have all the people who contributed significantly to this study been offered the chance to be a co-author?"

I hope this helps give more credit where credit is due and boost the career of budding scientists.
