I was in London yesterday, to see A Strange Loop, and watching that powerful reflection on the impact of religious-based homophobia (especially on the same day as London’s Pride festival!) reinforced the importance to me of ensuring Religious Education in UK schools doesn’t reproduce religious bigotry, and that it actively challenges harmful religious narratives of exclusion that can make our LGBTQ+ students feel victimised and attacked in the supposedly safe-space of the classroom rather than amplify them. I speak about some of the ways I’ve tried to challenge religious homo/trans/bi phobia in my own RE teaching in my book, Anarchist Atheist Punk Rock Teacher ( https://www.earthislandbooks.com/product-page/anarchist-atheist-punk-rock-teacher-by-dan-mckee ) and recommend it as reading for any current RE/RS teacher.

Students with ADHD often struggle with final projects and large, end of the semester assignments. How can educators help? Try providing more goal posts for them to reach. This helps them organize and it helps them stay on track. These things seem easy, and they probably are if you don't have ADHD, but for folks with ADHD, organizing, reigning our ideas in, staying focused on the project's requirements, all of that can be impossible.
