I'm a so-called member of #GenerationX, when we were born every single town & village was predominantly served by #FamilyOwnedBusinesses, #supermarkets had only just started to encroach on the #highstreet. In the shortest time everything changed, supermarket chains merged & bought out other businesses, the #Internet arrived & evolved from being a source of #GlobalKnowledge to being utilised for #commerce, #economies shifted, #marketing came into play & here we are today. #IndependentBusinesses are being hit with full force, we, #ThePublic, can change this. Not only through our #SpendingHabits but also how we #vote. I'm not innocent with this, I too am very #complacent, it really is a sign of the times. If however we don't change, it will be to our #detriment.
