I need order-independent transparency (OIT) for my chess-game... no doubt! Since @godotengine's documentation states, that OIT is not supported - and I could not find it being mentioned in any roadmap - I have to do it myself. "Famous last words" ;)

This looks almost awesome... but it is missing OIT *sigh* I became a bit obsessed with real-time (refracted) transparency since my last posting. I would really like to have that for my chess game. This is going to be some detour :) @godotengine 4

Reading docs (with opinions sometimes) regarding e.g. @godotengine and watching 'tutorials', one happens to come across statements like: "Nah, it's (<insert-non-unreal-or-unity-engine>) no good for serious work!" Are some folks really this stupid?

My Rubik's cube demo actually looks decent, if executed on a halfway decent machine. Solid 60 fps is the baseline for a reason :) @godotengine 4

Of course the shortcut-overlay needs backdrop-blur :) @godotengine

Being able to export assets from @Blender to @godotengine effortlessly and then just have a 'virtual lego box' to mess around with... while running on a potato and still looking decent is something that is impressive

Thanks to the versatile geometry-nodes in @Blender, I found some 'procedural bliss' to compensate for my lack of creative imagination for the background of my little Rubik's cube demo... the hexagon-spheres move very slowly @godotengine 4

Forgot to add the links to the 64bit x86 binaries for Linux and Windows: lnkd.in/e83Ewbkn lnkd.in/eUirDw2r After unpacking each binary must be started from a terminal... no fancy desktop-icons for the moment. @godotengine

Taking the rubik's cube example a bit further... with sound-effects. After all I want to get to know @godotengine 4 further. The surroundings still look dull, because my brain went blank today, when I sat in front of @Blender. Any good kitbash suggestions?

Ladies and gentlemen... the world's most over-the-top example for @godotengine 4's Node::reparent(...) API. This is what it looks like, when an evening coding-session gets out of hand. I also did write an orbit-camera while I was at it :)

Making good use of @godotengine 4's GDExtension with C++-20 to implement the multi-threaded UCI-binding of my game in order to interface with chess-engine.

Being a bit productive while attending @revisionparty 2023. As a debugging-tool, I added a FEN-string-entry to my upcoming game using @godotengine. First layout I load is a situation I (white) got myself into playing against stockfish (black).

Tiled 1.10 is here! Most importantly, restoring compatibility with Tiled 1.8 ("class" back to "type"), but with plenty of helpful additions as well! mapeditor.org/2023/03/10/tiled
