It's still going.
For those hating police you may enjoy the calling out of the hypocrisy of a police forensic unit investigating hand prints and slogans painted on winnipeg police headquarters.

More shit reporting from the kkklanadian broadcasting corporation via an article entitled something about showing no impact on human smuggling networks.

The "showing"? Apparently something being filed in "u.s." federal court 🤷‍♂️
No discussion in the article of what these files say, no discussion of what previous "smuggling" levels were, just some anecdotes of alleged irregular crossing of the "u.s."-"canada" border

The article provides 0 evidence to support assertions of any "smuggling" (ie. people being transported across a (what is an imaginary) border).
The cbc style guide still doesn't seem to have evolved to recognize that crossing a border is not a crime (not that it matters), (incorrectly) almost always referring to the crossings as illegal

---

The sovereignty of Akwesasne must be defended.

How exactly is this article in the interest of the public?

Asabiinyashkosiwagong Nitam-Anishinaabeg, also popularly known among settlers as Grassy Narrows First Nation, recently had a temporary win in their ongoing struggle to protect their territory.

thestar.com/news/canada/2023/0

Congrats to all those that have been involved in this cause, most especially to the people of Grassy Narrows.

Let's hope and continue to fight for those responsible for the toxic mercury in their community to soon be held to account and repair that issue too.

' wondering and ' open to how folx from cultures that have been oppressed and marginalized want people from that oppressing and marginalizing culture to respond to cases of members of the dominant culture appropriating and profiting off (and when questioned and confronted on these points say they "Don't care") your culture.

Thanks in advance.

' not normally a Slate reader but making an exception for this well-documented and thoughtful one, writen by someone who seems to know what they're talking about and is using it for the purposes of ending oppression

Note that the article contains (from the purposes of countering them) lengthy discussion of genocide, settler colonialism, slavery, and denialism
