#SenatorLidiaThorpe’s behaviour both within and without the #Parliament of #Australia has been nothing short of abominable.

Her aggressive demeanor is winning her no friends and will only alienate those non-indigenous voters who currently sit on the fence in regard to the #IndigenousVoiceToParliament.

She needs to dial it down.

I think this move is a good thing for Senator Lidia Thorpe and for the Greens.
She'll be more free to speak her mind about Indigenous issues, and the party won't be walking into yet another "Perfect is the enemy of good" scenario.

In my opinion, the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament is an excellent idea, and will help to raise discussion and awareness of Indigenous issues and rights. We don't know all the details yet, and it may not be perfect at first, but I think it's a great step in the right direction.

Australian PM Anthony Albanese ‘… announced that 3 lines would be added to the Constitution, with the 1st establishing a body named the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Voice, the 2nd empowering it to "make representations to parliament & the executive government on matters relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples", & the 3rd third giving federal parliament the power to make laws regarding its composition, functions, & powers’.

Whatever they say, the National Party opposing a constitutionally enshrined Indigenous Voice to Parliament demonstrates that they want to continue to dictate to our First Nations people how they should live without any consultation.
