I enjoy cooking with gas, but I didn't know about these issues. I guess I should look into an induction stove.

Overall, I am 100% an #InductionStove convert. #GasStoves just feel slow and outdated to me now.

And just a reminder - Induction IS NOT THE SAME as electric. They both use electricity, but electric stoves heat a coil to heat your pans - this coil may be hidden beneath a glass top, making it *look* similar to induction, but its not. Induction spins a magnet to generate a current directly in your pan, which is much more efficient.

Anyway, if you have a choice, go induction.

We got an #InductionStove a few months ago. Not sure how it compares with gas, but it's much more powerful and gives more temperature control than the old stove. Give induction some thought, since you're replacing your old stove anyway.

I'm looking to make the switch from a gas stove/oven to an induction stove and electric oven in the next few months. Do people have recommendations or other words of wisdom?

I'm looking for a single unit (not separate range and oven). I do most of the cooking for my family of six and enjoy entertaining, so they'll get pretty heavy use. I learned to cook in a commercial kitchen and have used gas most of my life.

My wife and I decided to "be the change." Over 40 years we have taken the following steps:

- Chose not to reproduce
- Eat a #PlantBased diet
- Live below our means so we could afford to:
- Made our home #EnergyEfficient
- #Solar PV on roof
- Cook with an #InductionStove
- Solar hot water
- #EVs charged at home from the sun
- #AvoidAirTravel

Our CO2 #emissions are 95% lower than in 2000.
