I notice that after a decade of changes that favoured bosses and penalised workers (leading to large productivity increases, large corporate profits and negligible employee wages growth), CEOs, bosses and the usual RWFWs are going bananas that a government might make changes that might (in a very small way) rebalance the playing field and lead to increased wages.
It is worth noting that CEO salary packages revolve around the level of profits achieved, the share price and dividend level. So *of course* it is not in the interests of CEOs to allow the workers to get pay rises because that means increased costs and lower profits.
And those CEOs interests are directly represented by industry associations, who are all howling about the changes.
Just remember all of this when you see someone bleating on the screen against the government’s Industrial Relations changes … they are not on your side, they are on the CEOs side and want to keep your wages suppressed.
