Finding online collaboration tools for non-geeks is the quest that brought me into the software freedom world more than 20 years ago, through #Indymedia. I've tested a *lot* of apps in that time. I've also seen a lot of the failure modes that can bring down the projects that create and maintain those apps (and/or the underlying network infrastructure they depend on).

So when I defend matrix, it's not for any sentimental reasons, nor for lack of trying alternatives.

Die IT-Infrastruktur liegen demnach immer noch beim LKA Stuttgart. Die Razzia am 2. This is an excellent summary of one chronic problem with ethical tech movements (#FreeSoftware, #OpenSource, #Indymedia, #PlatformCooperativism). We've created structures that help us get the intent right (free licensing, realtime feedback and collaboration, open publishing, internalised ownership). But the cultural competence to mainstream all this, is often lacking.
