@pilaraymara No, I don't think so. Salmon, like all of us, is a flawed individual; he has strengths and weaknesses. By contrast with Sturgeon, who is almost pathologically risk-averse, he's a gambler; that contrast may be what made them a good team.

His risk-taking behaviour took us to the 2014 #indyref, I grant you; but he didn't win it, and the same behaviour led him into the scandals that brought him down.

More than a few see poverty as a theoretical construct, something that would be expected under the current economic model, but not something they have ever experienced directly, nor have they ever met anyone living that way.
In many ways, they reflect the modern, Westminster/Chelsea-centric Labour Party.
They are good for bashing the Tories extremes, but not for much else.

A lot of people on the Left are aghast at my attitude to the Guardian - as the default BigMedia for the left, they are often held up as shining beacons of journalism, but they are just as much establishment as all the overt right-wing press.
Almost all their journalists are middle class types who went to uni to "find themselves", whose idea of hardship was waiting for Daddy to send them some money after blowing their student loans on the first weekend. <_>
