I'm kinda scared to ask this, but #infinityforreddit is still working just fine on my phone. Is it supposed to be? When are they pulling the plug?

I am really sad that in a few days #InfinityForReddit and other clients will stop working. I learned a lot of things over there about all kinds of topics in the last years and will miss scrolling through posts. I just cannot ignore the fuckups #Reddit has done in the past few weeks and therefore won't support them by using their official app/website. Time to try out #Lemmy eventhough it only contains a tiny fraction of the content.

For all people who uses "Infinity for Reddit"

Infinity will put the App behind a Paywall beginning at 1st July due Reddit's Api pricing. This means you will no longer be able to use the app for free (older versions included)

Burning bridges.

I'd be lying if I said I won't miss it. And I may still occasionally visit r/flying from the desktop website, as that hasn't yet reached (and never may) viable size to be a useful source of expertise.

For many other uses, #lemmy is fine, and will grow.

I had hoped #infinityforreddit would start supporting lemmy, instead they will be offering a subscription model.

I will probably subscribe. For no other reason than to support #Infinity devs. I will not be logging in to #Reddit after the 1st. I will delete all of my content. U/Spez has #dugg too deep of a hole with his mouth.👎

Just deleted my #reddit account because of this #API debacle. I will not use Reddit anymore if I cannot use #infinityforreddit. Anyways, #mastodon is better. Although #kbin sounds promising. Go #fediverse!

Is so #good to see on #Reddit how people are now looking for #alternatives after that #API #debacle.

For those that don't know. Reddit is now limiting their API #server calls to #prevent that other companies train #AI #ChatBots. Right now it only limits said #bots. But soon they can use it to #block #ThirdParty #clients like #InfinityForReddit.
