I'm thrilled my infographic "101 Derivatives of French Mother Sauces" made the longlist for the category "Arts, Entertainment & Culture" on the 2023 Information Is Beautiful Awards! I don't think it will make the shortlist as it's pretty competitive, we're competing against individuals, teams, studios and even agencies from orgs like Reuters, USA Today, MIT, and Harvard Engineering.

Repost: IA is changing. Learn how the move from document-centric to interaction-centric information environments changes information architecture:

Here we go! Prints will go on sale after the competition wraps up, in case they're of interest.
The best part of doing this is now I want to try making every sauce at some point 😅🤞

I think that not only applies to information architecture:
" - Not everyone knows as much as I do about computers and the internet.
- Even when I think I’ve made something completely obvious, it might not be."

A new ep of my Power of Ten podcast is out with my guest, the wonderful Abby Covert.

In this episode she discusses her latest book, "Stuck? Diagrams Help a field guide for the trek from diagram novice to diagram nerd."

Next week's #IAConference workshop explores how #InformationArchitecture changes when you're working across sites and platforms at larger scales than the IA of a single site. How do you IA an enterprise when you have Teams and SharePoint and Box and Workday and ServiceNow and others in the mix together?
This video from the 2019 IA Conference unpacks ideas around scale, experience, and structure around my approach to IA at large scales:

The final talk at #WorldIADay Seattle is about a real world, urban accessibility issue, navigating city streets and sidewalks by Chu Li, a PhD student in Computer Science at University of Washington.

The 3rd talk at #WorldIADay was a panel on information architecture for accessibility.
My favorite story was from Sarah Barrett about user research for blind and low-vision .Net developers who depend on Microsoft Learn for their job and have trouble finding the information they need. Improve the IA of the site for this audience and that will make it better for everyone!
