De 1,8 kilogram zware Ingenuity helikopter maakte op 3 september 2023 zijn 57ste vlucht op Mars. Er werd een afstand van 217 meter afgelegd en de vlucht duurde in totaal 129 seconden.

De Ingenuity Mars helikopter van de NASA blijft het aantal vluchten op de rode planeet uitbreiden. De bijna 1,8 kilogram zware Ingenuity vloog op 26 augustus 2023 voor de 56ste keer en bleef tijdens deze missie bijna 2,5 minuut in de lucht.

Mars Helicopter Ingenuity was a technology demonstration mission to test powered, controlled flight on another world for the first time.
The helicopter completed its technology demonstration phase after the 3rd flight on April 25, 2021. After another 2 flights, it transitioned to a new operations demonstration phase.
More than 2 years later, Ingenuity has completed 54 flights and is still going strong in support of the overall mission.
