@anu1905 this looks really cool! I’ve been looking to repurpose my Kindle screen as the battery is shot and it is impossible to find replacement batteries here. #openbook by @joeycastillo and #inkplate by Soldered were the two candidates. I guess time to give it a shot now.
This weekend's project was to roll my EInk reader with an Inkplate 6PLUS. It's a little chunky, but with a KleverCase cover, it becomes a nice little book.

@heiseonline wunderbar premade und aus recycelten Kindle displays ist der #inkplate.
About a month ago I bought a crowd funded colour eInk display on a whim without a plan:
https://www.crowdsupply.com/soldered/inkplate-6color
It's turned up sooner than I expected, has good docs/examples and seems easy to use. It's currently displaying a picture it downloaded from the web.
I'm impressed - time to buy a battery for it and come up with a plan.

@nevercast @vsaw @mcbridejc yeah, I bought a plain e-ink screen and was told to add a UV protector or keep away from direct sunlight ☀️
We used it for about a year and a half in...not direct sunlight, but a well-lit room. Then, suddenly, it started having fading/not-refreshing issues and I've now given up on it 😕
I'm guessing (hoping) it's a filter issue! Anyway, planning to get an #Inkplate next time because that's Kindle-sourced so it should have the same lifetime too 😉

Working on a ""PDF"" reader for my #inkplate 10, pre-rendering the PDFs as images on computer first.
So I made a font for Adafruit GFX, to use with my #inkplate 10. It works well for my display though some may find it a touch small, I think it would be a bit big for lower-res ones.
Update on my #inkplate order: apparently, it has shipped, last night from Dallas, TX, according to the tracking number in my crowdsupply account and the UPS web site.
scheduled to arrive this Friday, the 17th. YAY!
New update from the #inkplate 6 team, with even better partial update sample video: https://www.crowdsupply.com/e-radionica/inkplate-6/updates/funded-and-full-speed-ahead
Looking forward to playing with this.
