Most of the ink transfer prints I made were (and are) for a specific project. This one, however, is a bit of an orphan. I made the photo on the north coast of Prince Edward Island Canada, just a short walk from my cottage. Unfortunately, this rock formation was destroyed in September 2022 by Hurricane Fiona. It was quite a popular spot for the tourists. #PrintMaking #AlternativeProcess #InkTransfer #PEI #LandscapePhotography

"Swamp Trees". (Yes, my shoes are perpetually muddy). The usual ink transfer process: hand sanitizer, old overhead projection material, Arches 88 paper and much cursing and swearing by me. #PrintMaking #AlternativeProcess #InkTransfer #BlackAndWhitePhotography

"Swamp Trees". Yes, my shoes are perpetually muddy. The usual ink transfer process involving hand sanitizer, very old overhead projection material, Arches 88 paper and much cursing and swearing. #PrintMaking #AlternativeProcess #InkTransfer

An alcohol gel transfer print made using my usual process: expired overhead transparency material (circa 1990s I think), hand sanitizer and Arches 88 paper.
The photo itself was taken at a lovely spot in the local woods where a river runs into a lagoon. #landscapePhotography #InkTransfer #AlternativeProcess #printmaking #BlackAndWhitePhotography

Another ink transfer print made with hand sanitizer and outdated overhead projection material. I always love the funky borders this combination produces. #inkTransfer #AlternativeProcess #printMaking #landscapePhotography

Most of the ink transfers I produce these days are made on unsized paper (Arches 88) using hand sanitizer and 30 year old sheets of brittle overhead projection material. The ink doesn't want to release from the old material without a fight, so you get these funky corners which I love. The series "Man Standing Next to a Pond" on my website is comprised almost entirely of images made this way. #inktransfer #alternativeprocess #digitalprinting

"Field of Stars #2". An ink transfer on aluminum. The original was shot with a "Windsor" toy camera (one of the many Diana camera clones) using Ansco All-Weather fim that expired in the 1960's. And yes, the this is the negative image. #inkTransfer #plasticCamera #AlternativeProcess #expiredFilm

I make a lot of alternative digital prints like this ink transfer on baltic birch wood. I used to do lots of transfers direct to substrates such as wood or metal, but now most of my transfers are on some form of paper or synthetic paper. This one is titled "The Apple Tree in Winter". #InkTransfer #AlternativeProcess #digitalArt
