Todays image from my photographic archive is of a traditional fisherman on Inle Lake in Myanmar (Burma).
The fisherman live on "floating" villages on the lake and everyone learns to row their small boats standing on the stern moving the oar with one leg. Inle lake is quite shallow and full of "weed" and so this allows them to have better visibility. They also use a conical net and I'm shooting through the net (well the camera was in the net but I was outside in another boat trying to both focus on the fisherman and get the composition.
I hope my friends in Myanmar are safe and they can soon return to the path they were following as it's a beautiful country and was just seeing the benefits of increased tourism and investment.
