I was very touched by prof. Sheila McIlraith's words as she remembered prof. Fahiem Bacchus during IJCAI's opening ceremony today.

Attending IJCAI brings back memories from my first IJCAI, when I met him. I had the huge privilege to be invited by him to come to UofT for a research visit two years later. He taught me a lot about how to think about Boolean Satisfiability and how to read papers about it. He was an honest and supportive mentor to me. He is greatly missed.

Sorry to hear #michaelparkinson the revered English TV / radio host, journalist and author, has passed. His trusted, unflappable screen persona was cleverly used in two horror films: patronising unhinged horror star Vincent Price with banal questions in #Madhouse (1974) and as the sceptical anchorman caught up in a national séance in the BBC's infamous #Ghostwatch (1992).

The versatile American actor appeared in dozens of TV shows in the 1960s and 70s, including as the grieving widow in memorable #Kolchak episode 'Chopper' (1975).
