Case in point, I’ve been working from home for 4 years now and have never been more #productive of course I am #selfemployed so the table stakes are a little higher. Busy still. The #Office should become a thing of the past. Especially considering as a #society we have determined getting around our crumbling #infrastructure is a low priority. Keep more people off the roads and #bemoreproductive

On our #inoffice days, the number one reason people don't come in is: They have a lot of meetings they have to attend.

My entire engineering team is remote - the only reason for me to go into the office is so I can socialize with other teams.

I have a very difficult time to properly filter background noise from someone talking to me (thanks, #autism) - but my absolute kryptonite is when I have to be on a zoom meeting in an open space and other people in that room are on the same call (because we couldn't get a conference room). The echo of them talking IRL over Zoom makes my brain just meltdown. That blank look on my face is a me being completely lost because I literally can't process what you are saying.

@scouten @marick agreed. I never felt #remotework is for everyone. Neither is #inoffice work. #hybridwork is not a compromise but a poor mixing of preferences and practices.

@marick @scouten yes, dysfunction can happen in office or remote. Remote, hybrid or collocated has really been the wrong distinction. As you indicate, it’s the degree we wish to hold a shared goal and consciously collaborate. #remotework #hybridremote #inoffice are merely environmental conditions we adapt for.

Can you split the difference by having #InOffice teams call in together as smaller groups, so there's still an impetus to stay attuned to those you aren't in the room with? For example - if you've got a ten person meeting with eight people on-site, could you have two groups of four call in from separate huddle rooms, along with each of the two people working from home? 3/3
