The Fun Day will take place at the Pellar Street Community Centre, as the Temple of Bacchus is unsuitable for under 18s.

Please accept our apologies to you and to Mark. If you think more should be done we could look into getting someone in to speak to the children about your faith, but Ms Nin-Zid thinks Mark would probably not want to be singled out.

On a happier note, the children obviously value library use!

Blessed be,
Aradia M. Ravenswood

I have been told my Ms Nin-Zid that Mark tried to explain that your prophet was slain but revived, Bark said 'no honestly that's Bacchus' and asked to leave the classroom to get a library book. Ms Nin-Zid then intervened to comfort Mark and explain that we respect *all* faith traditions.

Bark's mother Ms Crowland has offered to take Mark with the family to the local Roman Reconstructionist Fun Day with them next Sunday so that he can learn more about Bacchus.

3rd Wednesday before Mabon

Dear Ms Perry

We were very sorry to hear about the incident yesterday while the children of Chough Class were putting up their Vine Month decorations.

I understand that when your son Mark tried to explain to his classmate Bark Crowland that in your belief system, your prophet is known as the Living Wine, Bark replied with 'that's just Bacchus'.

As Hazel Month ends and Vine Month begins, we are beginning to taste the crispness of autumn in the air. It is a time of celebration, balance and new beginnings. We honour all the Gods and Goddesses of the vine, and their gifts of passion, wrath, holy truth, and the breaking down of the barriers that we place between ourselves and the animal world which we are truly a part of. Blessed be!

As of this year, owners of heavy vehicles are requested to contact the organisers for assistance. This change was made in order to avoid annoying the local knockers and other underground dwellers. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Anyone whose vehicle was parked in the Upper Field at 2022's Rally and was damaged by human vandals, and definitely not knockers, who are well known for their peaceful and diplomatic ways, should submit a Damage Report.

Exhibitors at the West Woolbury and Blatford Steam Engine Rally are reminded that under the new rules absolutely no elementals of any kind may be summoned on the premises without written permission from the organisers. Air, fire and water elementals were always banned for safety reasons but previously earth elementals were permitted if necessary to get vehicles over rough ground.

Elionora is annoyed that commenters on her unboxing videos are calling her into doubt. "All I said was that you could wear the robes to work, a moot or an informal ritual!" she said, rummaging through my herbal teabag tin. "Doesn't everyone need to go to a ritual occasionally, say if their normal friends are getting handfasted, or at Samhain? And haven't you got any of the pomegranate and cranberry ones left?"

Brian Cowpox is suing Wulf 'Virility of Odin' Wimhof for discriminatory practices after discovering that Wimhof offered reduced rates to followers of the Aesir and Vanir, which he refused to extend to Brian Cowpox's drum circle.

Wimhof said that his policy was justified because Scandinavian pagans were involved in fewer surfing accidents. "You can lead a Norse to water," he told the Coven Chronicle, "but you can't make him sink."

Mr Ardanes and Blidwen are engaged!

I said I thought it was a bit sudden. Elionora said 'Yes, but you've got to remember he owns the freehold on that cottage and the field out the back'.

Apparently they got engaged at the post-Village Show Harvest Hootenanny at the Sacred Spiral Pub, which surprised me, as the last I heard Blidwen was complaining that 'hootenanny' was hate speech and defamatory towards goats.

She then pointed out Madgy-Figgy Moonshadow, aged three and a half, as the reincarnated matriarch. It is traditional for the Moonshadow matriarch to take a sacred consort on ascending to the title, and Madgy-Figgy is at present trying to decide between one of two toy tractors, or a snail.

"We're glad it's all sorted out," said Tanith Moonshadow, "It was getting inconvenient."

Local police say that no action will be taken about the parrot, due to the Statute of Limitations.

... in order to seek out Peace-Upon-Your-Dwelling Moonshadow (1630-1665), a registered ghost. Having known the late Stella-Matutina Moonshadow during her lifetime, she was able to regale the gathered Moonshadows and other interested parties with tales of how the Moonshadow coven mobilised to prevent invasion by sea in the 1940s and also the surprising story of how Guilda Moonshadow acquired her parrot.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the such a success! For those confused by what happened with Mr Sanders' quiz and who the Guest Judge was, an explanation:

Mr Sanders had been asked to adjudicate the case of reincarnated Moonshadow matriarch Stella-Matutina Moonshadow by means of a quiz about her life. After dodging various threats and promises from the candidates, he ventured beyond the old tin mine, on foot, with no phone or other devices...

A joyful to all! Hail to , the Many-Skilled One!

Quick message from Emaleth Moonshadow: her outdoor dancefloor at the winery will be closed to the general public from 4 pm and then for the rest of the week, as obviously local Jewish youth organizations have priority on Tu b'Av and then on Thursday the Pendlebury Maenads have booked it for their annual 'Paniskoi! at the Disco'.

Does ANYONE have any suggestions for what the should read during Hazel Month, which as we all know is Diversity Month? Something short would be ideal.

Of course the cross-quarter day is also known as among Gaelic pagans, commemorating the games Lugh of the Long Hand created in honour of his foster mother Talltiu. If you're travelling, remember that Lùnasa is the name of the whole month in modern Irish! This is why many pagan organisations, whether syncretic or Exclusionary Gardnerite, prefer the term Lammas, as it involves no cultural appropriation.

Who's excited for ? Everyone here is getting ready to celebrate at the Village Show. Come and take part in the dancing and admire the produce, baking and handicrafts! An interesting fact is that Lammas' name actually comes from a minority religion first fruits feast involving asking the blessing of the Divine on loaves. Maybe those entering the baking categories should revive this quaint custom?

Dear parents,

We are very sorry that some of you found The Journey Of Inanna unsuitable for Story Time this week! We have listened to all your complaints about children 'bringing home drawings of naked corpses' and 'having nightmares about men turning into snakes'.

However, in a majority Pagan society, children will be disadvantaged if they are not familiar with beloved stories like this one. Also, it teaches the importance of give and take among siblings!

There are many songs about holly and ivy! Most are sung by men, and are best considered as a playful boast that holly (the Male Principle) shall one day rule over ivy (the Female Principle) though others describe holly and ivy growing together throughout the year as an emblem of true love. The former category was the inspiration for Jenny Whitehorse's folk hit, "As I Was Out A-Strolling, I Met An Unwanted Prick."

This week, the children at the will be celebrating Holly Month by making protective holly charms and learning about deciduous and evergreen trees. We celebrate the evergreen holly in the height of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, acknowledging that soon it will be among the only greenery to be seen, just as its presence in winter reminds us that Holly Month will return.

Raven K said that Persephone from the craft shop had decided to become known as Soror Quidquid Latine Dictum Sit Altum Videtur. I asked who suggested that. Raven said that she didn't know, but she had seen Mx Loge coming out of the craft shop looking pleased with themselves and whistling.
