Y llegando a los 2020s... Viene una nueva época en los juegos de rol. Con la adaptación de los JRPGs a occidente, la línea entre WRPG y JRPG ya no existe, haciendo referencia a los JRPG, no como un género diferente, sino una categoría cultural distinta, puesto que a pesar de tener juegos tan parecidos como la saga Souls, las tradiciones taoístas, budistas y sintoísta no se han perdido en estos títulos asiáticos.

CD Projekt Red, a pesar de la decepción de Cyberpunk 2077, ha sido un éxito sin precedentes, siendo incluso más exitoso que Elden Ring que se quedó a duras penas. Además de esto, con una secuela en camino y un The Witcher 4 que todos están esperando.

Bethesda, con una ventana de lanzamiento para Starfield y un The Elder Scrolls 6, siendo seguramente el RPG más esperado del momento.

Obsidian, siendo ahora parte de Microsoft, viene a meterse en esta piscina con un nuevo Pillars of Eternity de alto presupuesto, .

Bandai Namco, después de la salida de Tales of Arise y Elden Ring, son actualmente la mayor potencia en Japón a la hora de crear videojuegos y RPGs, y seguirán por esta línea apostando por algo más tradicional como Tales of y algo más internacional como es la saga Souls.

Square Enix, muchísimos alti-bajos para intentar revivir franquicias como Final Fantasy o Dragon Quest, incluso tras el alabado Dragon Qust 11. Sin embargo, no todo es malo para ellos, puesto que actualmente, es el MMORPG más exitoso del mundo, destronando así a World of Warcraft y The Elder Scrolls Online, y con un esperado Final Fantasy XVI influenciado por Dragon's Dogma y The Witcher 3, y con un nuevo en camino.

Como olvidarnos de que si no fuera porque es actualmente exclusivo de estaría rompiendo ventas en más de una plataforma.

, haciendo cada vez mucho más popular al JRPG-SRPG de .

Además de esto, muchas empresas más como Bioware, Falcom y Atlus están ahí, en la sombras, para sacar más exitos como Persona, un nuevo Dragon Age o Trails.
El futuro de los RPG cada vez es más emocionante y con más posibilidades culturales para el mundo.

Esperemos que clásicos como o renazcan en esta década. Y nuevos y nos llegen de alegría. Por supuesto, juegos de rol occidentales como también tienen mucho que prometer, siendo este influenciado por los JRPGs.

Podríamos mencionar a muchos otros, pero... ¡me daría para un hilo eterno!
