Wind painting
An occasional series
From time to time my fancy's taken by some particular visual tangent or offshoot from photorealistic photography (please don't count the pleonasms and redundancies) using a photographic image as a starting point.
One of these is reflections on water—shapes, colours, patterns;
another is painting with the wind, visualizing the invisible.
I won't dump all of these at once, I'll just add them to the mix with the hashtag #WindPainting (assuming I remember).
This first is actually very close to plain photography, being basically just a long exposure shot with a little artistic post-processing, but the thing that delighted me was the silver trails left by the sun glinting on the gum leaves, and in some cases the sinusoidal patterns they left as individual leaves twisted as they blew back and forth.
Other wind paintings are much further from straight photography.
