A strong rebuttal by Quad9 (a provider of recursive DNS services) of the legitimacy of the Leipzig court's global injunction on Quad9 in favour of the copyright industry:

These injunctions hurt in the short term but, in the longer term, I wonder if they will lead to a more resilient Internet services infrastructure, where the impact or effect of injunctions such as this are far more limited.

The internet as we know it may be about to change. As SCOTUS considers cases against Google and Twitter, one HLS expert says tech platforms should no longer be shielded from liability

I have *missed* the good ol' liveblog without audio and video. Just insightful and useful content, 'plain' text.

If you are interested in the (really rather important) Internet law case, Gonzalez v Google, which the US Supreme Court will hear next week, @jmiers230 has put together an excellent primer:

This is: Just. Not. True. The US actually has pretty good laws limiting (that is, the responsibility you bear for what your users do). You know all that stuff about how is "a giveaway to ?" That's only true if the internet consists solely of Big Tech companies. However, if you decide to spend $5/month hosting a Mastodon instance for you and your community, that same law protects *you*.
