My outboard is a tad unreliable. What could be the cause? 5hp, fourstroke mercury from I think 2015.

I tried changing plugs, changing and checking oil. Fuel filter looks clean to me, but my eyes are not trained for the task. When conditions are right, it can run for long periods, but at idle speed or when changing gears it dies rapidly.

I tried locating the idle control screw but only found the mixture trim.

Time to retire it?
