On 6 April, people worldwide will celebrate International Asexuality Day (IAD). IAD is a coordinated global campaign supporting the ace umbrella, which includes demisexual, grey-asexual, and other ace identities. This campaign takes place every year in April.

Being ace is maybe my longest known queer identity. I realized I was ace and identified as such long before I was able to accept myself as trans. My husband realized he was ace after we talked about it for a bit while we were dating. There's a bunch of us if you know where to look!

Realising I'm ace was such a defining moment for me. My mind had previously wobbled back and forth between me being broken and weird to "just haven't found the right person yet" as I'd never had a crush, let alone a relationship.

Since learning about my #asexuality I have become significantly more comfortable with being who I am, no longer awaiting for something to happen, instead content I am fine as I am when it comes to sexuality and relationships. No expectations to conform. What will be will be.
