It just started this year. I'm working with a small diaspora from New Orleans and a contact in Germany where carnival starts in November, among other Mastodonians.

Today is #FatTuesday within #Carnival in various parts of the world. In this, our Krewe’s inaugural year, we request Mastodonions to toot their pics of parades, events, dances, decorations, food and anything else associated with their celebrations of being alive.

Sure, we can help the Carnival Diaspora stay connected, but it seems to me the real value of the #InternationalKreweOfToots here is to educate those who have not been lucky enough to be enculturated into Carnival/Mardi Gras yet. Thinking the Executive Committe should plan a series of educational toots to get noobs up to speed.

I think #InternationalKreweOfToots fits the expanded vision.

FYI In the Rheinland of Germany, Carnival starts 11/11 (!) and that day is a big deal. Maybe people should feel free to post their party/event/food pics anytime, based on their culture. Marlene is our specialist for Germany.
