Connie Mitchell moved on to Sneaky Sound System but Primary were more my jam. Saw them once, supporting Tadpole on a summer tour (my sis drove me to Whangamata for a Coroglen Tavern show). Got a photo with them after & remember one of them saying "hey, you knew all the words!" as I approached. One of my all-time top gigs 💜

I'd got front row tickets for me & a friend to their Silent Alarm show at the Michael Fowler Centre in 2018; only the front row was allowed to congregate in front of the stage, and we did indeed move forward to do exactly that. Such a perfect show. Brilliant to be on our feet for it and more physically engaged with the performance.

Filigree & Shadow is one of my all-time fave albums; this is my top song from it. _Very_ different from most of the other 80s music in my collection. I got it in my last two or three years of high school, so it recalls my youth, the people who I shared it with and the emotions it soundtracked. One for the funeral playlist (or maybe not?!).

Not comfortable with sharing my birth year, so this is from a "possible funeral songs" playlist. A friend gave me a mixtape (actually a CD) a few years ago; this was the standout & has been played many times since. Love the eeriness of the sound, and the equivocation in the sentiment reminds me of I Want to Live by This Mortal Coil which is an old fave.

I've never done karaoke, though I did try Singstar at a party once and wasn't very good at it. But I could probably chant "Sing", or "Gimme the ring" occasionally, and this song is so full of sound it might be ok. Also it's great for nostalgia, specially the video.

Not really sure what "classic favourite" is meant to mean, but I'm going for a well known track that I've loved since I was a young'un. Soul Mining was one of my favourite records once upon a time, I'm still fond of it and this track is still way up there for me. I'm generally not very remembery but this is one of the few songs I know all the lyrics for.
