We're not sure the extent to which the following is an issue to folks here, but the BBC is worth calling out and quite promptly blocking for using Amazon, a deeply unethical monopoly, with power over innumerable industries. They are also fascist (ie. meld with govt/military/money creators).

Hetzner is not Amazon, though. It may be big, but it is not Amazon. We cannot keep feeding such an #internetCancer as Amazon. In Australia there are no independent banks left that do not go through either Cloudflare, Amazon, or Akamai.

We have long been critics of a number of choices the #Mastodon devs make.

For years now they have not enforced the AGPLv3 license against CloudFlare'd #heladogeDotCom, which means that the license means very little to them, or they are receiving kickbacks from very dark forces that a pushing the "#shitCoin".

They are forced to scramble into other banks but the sheer number of cloudflare controlled banks (or amazon and azure) is enormous.
