@nazgul I've seen this claim of Twitter being effective at protecting marginalised communities many times over, however I don't understand how that could be possible.

They are ravaged by bots and loud extremists topped up with adds and paid content.

Moreover, they don't even have people in their organisation to sustain anything.

But I see the claim coming so many times, that there must be something... and something that perhaps can be replicated?

Is there any research or study about what is that that makes Twitter safe and empowering for marginalised folks?
