"Low Tide Treasures"
A detail of the Point Loma tide pools at... you guessed it, low tide, revealing beautiful rock layers and colorful rocks, smoothed by aeons of sand and waves.
The water is rendered very smooth from an exposure time of ~80 seconds.

I'm late for #ThrowbackThursday and I continue the #BlackAndWhite streak of this week, with an #IntimateLandscape photo from 10 years ago (Feb 2013).
This is a Brittlebush in a slot canyon in the #AnzaBorrego desert of #SanDiego in #SouthernCalifornia and the photo won 1st place in the Anza Borrego Foundation's photo contest that year, which was quite unexpected I must admit!

Here's "Spring in Blue and Yellow", with Engelmann Oaks and blue-flowering Ceanothus, photographed at Daley Ranch in Escondido, California about a week ago. (before it even was spring, officially!😅)
Oh and, I don't know why the Engelmann Oaks show yellow leaves in spring but they do that every year (normally their leaves are gray-green).

The Torrey Pine (Pinus torreyana) is one of the rarest pine trees on Earth; it only grows in a small coastal stretch of San Diego. A sub-species grows on Santa Rosa Island.
