#agapanthas growing on the farm are late blooming when compared to those I’ve taken in #melbourne of late, despite country weather here being approx 3-4 degrees warmer on average this time of year.

🤔

Notice how these white flowers are just emerging, the purple one near one of the sheds is already fully out though.

I do love however, visualising the early tightly packed pre-bloom arrangement of the flowering bulb (pics 2 & 3).

It slowly opens and unfurls over a few days until each individual flower and petal reveals itself in all their glory!!

Saw this #magnolia and bees were in abundance!

I watched this one #bee for 5 minutes as it stayed with this flower

Most of the time it seemed to be picking up and placing down the flower’s filaments and anthers (the pieces laying on the bottom petal). Very active, flying

Other #honeybees were flitting in, around and out again per usual

Super #intriguing

These displays are displayed at ground level at a multi-dwelling residential building in South #melbourne, near the #VictorianMarket.

Origin is most likely Italian (‘Roma’ a dead giveaway), however I haven’t had luck following a brief research session. Unsure if they’re mythological creatures, legends or gods 🤷🏻‍♂️

However, the following are definitions of the three ‘names’ of each that accompanied each figure.
