I am an associate professor at the University of Erlangen, Germany and I also lead a research group at the Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light. We mainly focus on Photonic Crystal Fibers for several applications, from non-linear optics to quantum optics, but also to monitor chemical reactions.

Hi. I'm Ellie Faye. I write & spend too much time online. I love gifs & all things dorky. I am a self-proclaimed Word Nerd who is working on editing my first novel while writing my sequel, because of course I am.

I adore kitsch & collect Garden Gnomes. I'm a Seahawks fan & love all things PNW. Creativity of all sorts makes me geek out & I enjoy sharing pictures I've taken. I'm a caffeine addict & real life introvert - I only play outgoing on the interwebs.

I've been a working journalist since 2008, writing for The Guardian, Journal Pioneer and Eastern Graphic (Prince Edward Island) before becoming a web editor for The Western Star (Newfoundland and Labrador), then returning to PEI to do audience engagement and #SEO for SaltWire Network. I joined Overstory Media Group as a copy editor in July 2022. Here's a photo of me with newsprint in my hair.

So here's my #introduciton I'm a chemical engineer by training, now working in IT accessibility. I'm hoping that I can get back into science and engineering as it's most definitely my first love as far as work. Really enjoying reading Mastodon and looking forward to getting to know others in the fetaverse.

Recent arrival from the chaos over at that other place as a certain someone runs it into the ground at a rapid pace. Born & bred New Englander (CT to be exact) that has varied interests (history, politics, infosec, soccer, video games).
