Just tried reading a few #IntroLing pdfs on KOReader (?), the alternative reader I installed on the #Kindle and most worked out quite well.

The one-page IPA chart nearly crashed it, tho, which I find both weird and highly amusing. 😆

Ok, after the mock exam and talking about it I'm feeling a bit better about the coming #IntroLing test. IPA is still kicking my ass, but hey, that's what flashcards are for.

Things that stress me right now:

1. Various bureaucratic To-Dos that should have been done months ago.

2. Being woefully unprepared for #IntroLing exam in a week.

3. Sick child at home.

4. Partner leaving for work trip on Thursday.

5. #CopyJob pestering me for work, because we need all hands on deck after several coworkers got sick.

6. Having to get some paper from the kids doc to attest that its actually sick so I can't work.

7. Forgot my headphones.

8. Still haven't printed todays moch exam.

Ugh, I wanted to do some work for #IntroLing, but instead I'm just spacing out while browsing the internet.

Might as well head home...

After reviewing Syntax and Morphology I have the sudden urge to dust off my NLP-code again...

I like #IntroLing, I really do. Most fun I've had at uni in a while. But right now, I very much feel like crawling into some comfy corner (or staying in the warm library) and have some concentrated internet time.

Yesterday I hopped into #CopyJob after work, because I remembered that we're supposed to print the #morphology exercise sheets for todays #IntroLing seminar.

Turns out the machine I used for printing managed to fuck up the character encoding for all IPA symbols. Which I only noticed on the way home.

So today I can go and print those sheets again. Yay.

Ok, so derivation always changes the word class, inflection does not, but verbs used as adjectives are somehow a case of inflection?

...

I think I'm missing something here.

#IntroLing Lecture, but no beamer, so no slides, and now I regret sitting here, because everything we "learn" today we'll hear with working slides and better lecture style tomorrow in the seminar.
