My favourite book of 2023 so far - genuinely extraordinary

“A work of luminous and riveting prose, Elliott’s Invisible Child reads like a page-turning novel. It is an astonishing story about the power of resilience, the importance of family and the cost of inequality—told through the crucible of one remarkable girl”

Finished reading by @AndreaFElliot@Beta.mstdn.cf a dramatic social justice page turner. Every now and then you find a book that cannot be put down, and fortunately goes on to reveal more events in the life of Desani Coates, a teen in Brooklyn, heroic struggle against the social welfare bureaucracy and community attempting to break up her family with millions of misspent dollars.
