Hey #iOSDevSpace peeps!! Let's welcome our new mod @mattkiazyk !
Matt is ready to help approve new users and hopefully continue to not have to deal with a lot of mod requests 😄
Another #iOSDevSpace post:
I'm looking for another mod that would like to join in helping approve new members and tackle moderation posts as they come up.
DM me if you're interested.
Hey #iOSDevSpace (follow that # for instance updates)
There's a bit (15ish) of spam reports from mastadon.social. I'm getting to them as soon as I can.
Short of limiting mastodon.social there's unfortunately not much I can do besides respond to your reports.
SO: “Implementing SwiftUI ScrollView snap-to-placement behavior (perhaps using a "scrollViewWillEndDragging" equivalent)?”
Anybody have any ideas?
Swif.Org: “[A] preview of the future of Foundation is now available on GitHub!
This preview provides a unified implementation of Foundation, written in Swift, that is faster, safer, and more approachable to new contributors."

Radar: “SwiftUI: When there are multiple ScrollViews within a NavigationView, only one properly slides "under" the navigation bar w/blur…”

Asana: “We just released our native Mac app!”
Me: “Yay!”
Asana: “Did we mention it’s written with Electron, and absolutely feels like an app written with Electron?”
Me: 😒
For a somewhat similar example, see what Xcode shows for deprecated methods:
1. The deprecation warning details for the selected method.
2. A small warning icon on the right side of the method.
I think my suggestion could be patterned after this: A small red icon in the listing indicating platform/version requirements prevent the method from being used (without a fallback), and show the requirements themselves under the description. Add red warning text as needed.
I just submitted a Feedback to Apple for Developer Tools (Xcode): FB12113546
It’d be really nice if the auto-completion popover showed platform/version requirements for suggested methods, as well as indication if the suggested method won’t work in the current project (i.e. the text “Method is only available in iOS 16.0 or newer” in red). Maybe even in the method listing.
If you like this idea, please feel free to send a duplicate Feedback.
Welcome to all my followers that got moved over from my old account on #iosdevspace.
This will be my new home! Hope you will continue to stay and we can enjoy the convos.
