This log has been in the same location near the shore of the & just upstream of the for the past 3 years. Presumably there's some underwater structures that keep it fixed in place & prevent it from drifting away & passing over the nearby dam. The local ducks & geese have found it a convenient location to rest, bask, preen, & perform their morning ablutions.
