My Samsung phone’s display just died after falling on the floor once.

Meanwhile my iPhone 6S which is shattered to oblivion and thrown around like a toy and still runs just fine without any issues.

This mfer simply do not die.

This is a bit of an aberration in the dogwalking series, since they’re nearly always straight photography, and my non-dogwalking (as distinct from dog non-walking or non-dog walking) posts may be less representational or more deliberately artistic. Am I still talking?

To help with the challenge in the previous picture, here's a picture of a stone curlew making a newbie mistake. It has cleverly blended in with the grey-brown pattern of the aggregate footpath, but then foolishly stood in front of a brightly coloured advertisement for beer... Possibly it's stoned.

I had to bin another wrecked and smoking irony meter after accidentally reading ANOTHER post from someone telling another poster to CHILL because the OP had said something the CHILLER thought was tone-policing.

I don’t think even a meta-irony meter will cut it.

Having watched online humans do this since UUCP bang addressing and Usenet, I realise it’s pointless trying to stop it, just as it’s pointless pointing out that this isn’t a problem strangely unique to Mastodon or Twitter, but all around me teacups are swirling angrily, each with their storm.

This is a society. Societies evolve cultures and norms. Pretending there are no norms means you’re either a loony sovcit, or a pimply anarchist trying to pretend that a group of humans can co-exist without agreed limits on behaviour.

Arguing that debate about norms is, itself, some kind of “policing” so completely misses the point, as do the calls for “civility” that are the weapon of choice for the establishment.

Having noticed and enjoyed the remarkable difference between the two platforms, I’d have to say that screaming at people to CHILL is exactly the behaviour I’d hoped I’d left behind. Luckily, the Block Button isn’t far away, as are Mute, Like and Boost, as well as CW, and I’ll just proceed on my merry way.

Here is a moth pretending to be a wasp. Metaphor, maybe.
