We’ve been hard at work making changes to #BBC #iPlayer to speed up the time it takes to get programmes to viewers.

Previously if you missed the restart window for a programme you'd have to wait for the programme to go through high-quality encoding (which takes time) and then it would be available on iPlayer.

Now we use an interim version captured at the time which you can watch straight away and we replace this with the high-quality version as soon as its ready.

For cheapskates like me who don't go to the cinema any more there's a multi-part drama by the #BBC called #Oppenheimer, free to watch on #iPlayer (uk only), made in 1980.

It's very good on detail and feels historically accurate, and I didn't recognise David Suchet as Edward Teller. Worth watching just for that. #UKTV

I finished 'Black Ops' last evening. It's on iPlayer, from the BBC. You need a VPN, unless you're in the UK. Only six episodes but it's fun, funny with excellent acting. I hope there's a second season, the finale suggested there would be. Check it out.

Got a VPN? Looking for something fun to binge this weekend? Check out 'Black Ops' on BBC iPlayer. It's excellent, hilarious and tons of fun to watch. Stars Gbemisola Ikumelo and Hammed Animashaun as a pair of wannabe cops, basically they're happy to have a job, who get caught up in a drug gang in London. It's one of the funniest shows on BBC that I've seen. Unfortunately, Felicity Montagu gets top billing on IMDB but her role is tiny. Check it out.
