Today's work in progress is an , this one is the #10 of the Library of Congress samples. There was one new stitch to me--the headside crosses that are done without pins. I love to conquer a new thing!

I was planning on the cloak at MFA Boston: collections.mfa.org/objects/32

But now I'm leaning to this sleek shawl that has a bit later look, but looks a little simpler construction-wise. And might be easier to wear over other things for events.

I finished a swatch of another . This is #14 in Karen Thompson's recreation pattern book.

It was a good one. Some of them are a little whacked. But this seemed really intuitive as you went in and out of motifs. Worked up faster than some.

Might appear on a black silk reproduction cloak in the future....

I went to today, where they had a lunchtime talk and show-and-tell with some of the items in their collection. I was swooning....

Here is an pricking (the name for the card that holds the pattern with pin pricks). And now I have to decipher what this lace would have looked like.

That's what is so fun for me about lace, it's like a logic puzzle. That might not have an answer....
