The bowl of a "Dùidín" a clay pipe - these were often bought in bulk and used at wake houses before cigarettes became widely available. They would have been offered to visitors along with tobacco to smoke while waking the dead. This piece was found by the child of a good friend while digging near their home. County Clare, Ireland.
