She exhibited annually in Irish Living Art Exhibition and Oireachtas Art Exhibition. Elected a member of Royal Hibernian Academy in 1976 and president of the Watercolour Society.

@TheWildGees Frömel's Moon and Hill from 1971 in the IMMA Collection is a beautiful work. The alabaster sculpture has been displayed close to the natural light from the Royal Hospital's large windows. Sunlight can slightly illuminate the semi-permeable circular indentation in the stone. Artist Gerda Frömel died tragically #OTD in 1975 in a drowning accident aged 44. A Czech-born refugee, Gerda grew up in Germany and moved to Ireland in 1950s. She exhibited her sculpture here and worked in stained glass to critical acclaim and awards inc an Oireachtas medal

Sculptor Melanie le Brocquy died #OTD in 2018 aged 99. Studied in NCAD, Royal Hibernian Academy. Specialised in female figures and forms. Widely respected but didn't create many works. Notably sculpted her artist brother Louis, her writer mother Sybil, Lady Gregory, St Patrick (in St Pat's Cathedral, Dublin), Oscar Wilde (Trinity College Dublin). Commemorated with blue plaque in Belfast, crater on Mercury named Geddes after her!

Sr Concepta Lynch, a remarkable artist whose life's work is a tiny chapel in Dun Laoghaire, died #OTD in 1939. Member of Dominican Order, taught music in St Mary's convent and decorated their Oratory of the Sacred Heart over many years.
