As embarrassing as this debacle may be for Republicans, it is nice that they recognize that a body shouldn't choose its single leader by plurality vote, or else they'd be unable to vote for R alternatives to without wasting their votes and electing Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker.

They should put that conviction into practice and pass the to make a reality for the election of their members, too.
