I’ve just finished reading #TheWindBeganToHowl by #LairdBarron. This is the fourth in the #IsaiahColeridge series, but really works as a kinda side story/novella.

But, boy, this series a lot of fun.

Barron toys with noir, there are definite strains of Marlow here, except this goes deeper & darker by degrees. Elements of it remind me of Will Christopher Baer, which is as great a compliment as I can pay.

Oh, and Barron can write rather well: which helps.

Reading these in preparation for the new Isaiah Coleridge novella from Laird Barron out from Bad Hand Books.

So far I'm 3/4 of the way thru BLOOD STANDARD- I will fly through them all if the others are as good as this jewel.

Great characters, snappy dialogue, noir-ish vibes w/ a faint hint of the supernatural or numinous. REALLY enjoying this crime fiction novel, it's fantastic.

Legitimately excited for each of them, maybe I'll start on both 😂
